Land Rover produced the Series IIA from 1961 through 1971. Popularized by its frequent appearances in African safari documentaries and the movie Born Free, this is the “Landy” most people think of when Land Rover get mentioned. Most Land Rover experts consider the series IIA to be the most robust model ever constructed.

The 1966 example presented here is a rare Station Wagon edition model. The seller notes the sale includes both a full safari top and full canvas top complete with side curtains. This example includes the classic reinforced hood that’s designed to carry a spare tire. The seller states he only has the frames of the rear jump seats, so the buyer will need to plan on restoring those. The seller notes that this example they affectionately refer to as “Olive” has “been in the “family” for nearly 15 years” and that this Landy “runs strong and cranks right up on the coldest of days after weeks of no use”. Mileage indicated on the odometer states and the seller notes that “the typical rust developing in the rear chassis” so recommend a careful inspection underneath the vehicle.
