September 2020 Update – We’re busy updating our database accurately reflect the status of every car we’ve featured since starting  This what-if, one-off Plymouth Road Runner station wagon we first featured in February 2020 has since sold.

Okay, we already know what you’re thinking and you are correct: no, Plymouth never offered a Road Runner-themed station wagon. The private seller of this example grafted the front clip of a ’71 Road Runner onto this wagon to make a very cool custom car that was offered recently on Autotrader Classics near St. Helens, Oregon for the asking price of $16,000.

You’ll have to connect directly with the private seller to get more details, however according to the description, this custom features a fuel-injected Mopar 5.9 liter V8 mated to a Torque-Flight 727 automatic transmission that channels power to a nine-inch Ford rear end equipped with 3.50:1 gears and a Detroit locker.

The private seller goes on to mention that his car features a rebuilt front suspension equipped with a 1-1/4″ sway bar as well as disc brakes both front and rear. The blacked-out wheels and bumpers are powder coated. Also worth noting is the car now features shaved door handles, a custom interior with fresh upholstery, and air conditioning.

We love this take on what would otherwise be a mundane early seventies station wagon. Good luck with the sale!
