We came across this gorgeous ’52 Chevy Hot Rod pickup for sale in April 2019 on Craigslist located in New Egypt, New Jersey where the private seller asked $24,995. This is another classic case of being able to buy something you can enjoy now for at least half of the cost it would take to duplicate it.
The bodywork and paint appear straight and flawless in the pictures provided. Here’s a fine example of why chrome wheels make a hot rod!
We love the simplicity of the interior and the fine details that make it very cool. A prime example is the small candy apple swish on the custom gray seat backs that tie to the candy apple exterior. In addition to a chromed tilt steering column controlling a power steering box, the interior also features air conditioning controlled by a cool vintage looking panel and a modern CD stereo.
Check out the sanitary dashboard with modern Auto Meter Pro-comp gauges and how the gray vinyl on the bottom half is used to tie in the upper half exterior color. The odometer reading of nearly 5,700 miles shows is how far this truck cruised since its restoration to this stage.
The cool touches continue out to the bed, where in addition to being equipped with a nicely integrated and locking tonneau cover, the box is upholstered to match the interior. There will be no mulch hauling with this truck! We also love how the taillights are “frenched” in such a way that they blend into the paint. Very nicely done!
This Hot Rod comes equipped with a tried-and-true small block 350 cubic inch V8 connected to a column-shifted 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. See how the braided steel lines run from the firewall to the front fender? We assume the builder located a Vintage Air electric compressor under the fender to keep the engine bay clutter-free. Another subtle yet effective touch!
While the private seller neglected to provide any undercarriage photos, based on what is in the ad, we’re fairly confident you won’t be disappointed by the build quality underneath. Please let us know what you find upon inspection!
This is a great Hot Rod truck in a desirable body style in the right colors that will make a great cruiser on even the hottest of days. For $25,000 and a weekend of detailed cleaning, we’re pretty sure you’ll be the hit of any car show or Cars & Coffee you pull into. Good luck with the sale!
