While preparing for our latest #WagonWednesday feature, we really struggled to find a suitable station wagon. Then along came this 1995 LT1-powered, nine-passenger, Medium Garnet Red Metallic Over Tan Leather Buick Roadmaster that you can find here on Craigslist for the firm price of $4,500. The private seller’s firm price is about the halfway point between the NADA’s Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide’s “Average” and “High” values.

Saavy mid-90s Roadmaster fans will quickly point out that the 1994-1996 editions all came equipped with the Corvette-derived LT1. The Roadmaster version of this “GenII” 5.7L V8 came rated at 260 horsepower through the use of iron cylinder heads, a camshaft tuned for increased low-end torque, and intake silencers designed to decrease drive-by noise. What makes this example special however is that the private seller added a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger. While he doesn’t provide details on how much horsepower the system adds, we’re pretty confident this engine is now putting out at least one hundred more than stock. Unfortunately, the cowl induction style hood scoop and Boyd Coddington Wheels move this Roadmaster away from being a true “sleeper”.

The private seller provides a limited description of his Roadmaster. From the pictures provided, the body appears straight and the Garnet paint appears nicely polished and the simulated wood paneling presents well.

The second and third tan leather seats appear to be in like new condition while the driver’s seat appears to be in need of a cosmetic refresh. Note the A-pillar mounted gauges.

Under the hood is what make this full-size wagon interesting: a Paxton “Novi” series 2000 centrifugal, belt-driven supercharger. The owner states that this engine “needs clean up and drips some oil” so you’ll need to confirm what needs to be repaired to stop the leak. The engine deserves a nice detailing before showing it off at your local car show.

This Roadmaster is filled with potential and is the perfect alternative for the Hot Rodder who still needs to ferry his kids to and from soccer practice in between showing it at a local Cars & Coffee event. Good luck with the purchase!
