When we saw this 1972 Chevy C10 post here on Craigslist near Trenton, New Jersey, we knew it would likely generate a lot of interest. The private seller planned to restore this truck but states he’s lost his storage space and now need to sell it. He’s listed it at $12,000 however he appears to be open to offers. Based on the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool for this truck, the seller has it priced just below the #3 “Good” level. We’d offer $10,000 as a starting point and hope that it sticks.

Chevrolet produced its popular second generation C/K pickup from 1967 through model year 1972. The numerous improvements launched in 1971 continued on the 1972 models. Standard front disc brakes and the coveted egg crate grille were the notable changes across the line while more comfort features such as carpet, more padding and insulation made their way into the higher “Custom” and new “Cheyenne” trim levels.

The private seller of this C10 states that his truck is “in good shape, inspected, and driveable.” From the limited pictures provided, the exterior appears to be very solid. An in-person inspection will need to verify the condition of the truck’s underside. We’re also curious whether this example has a metal or wood floor; we hope its the latter.

The interior appears to very presentable condition with a column shifted automatic appearing to be the only noteworthy option present. We would change out the later model steering wheel with a period correct unit.

The owner states his truck features new hoses, belts, valve cover gaskets, wires, and a battery. The engine compartment appears to have a custom power brake master cylinder in addition to other engine dress up items. While the private seller does not provide pictures of the chassis, he also states that he recently replaced drive shaft bearings.

If your in-person inspection finds this example to be as solid as the exterior your only choice after purchase is to decide whether to return it stock or customize it to suite your taste. Good luck with the purchase!
