The Triumph TR6.  The car James May famously referred to as “The Blokiest Bloke’s Car.” You owe it to yourself to hear the exhaust note of the straight six as you shift through its gears.

We just came across this beautiful, one-owner, 43K mile, British Racing Green over Tan 1975 Triumph Spitfire you can find here on Craigslist in Mullica Hill, New Jersey where the private seller has the car listed for $27,500 or “best reasonable offer.”  Based on the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool, Joe (the private seller) has his TR6 listed between the #1 “Concours” and #2 “Excellent” price levels.

Not only is this TR6 one of the finest examples you can buy currently, the private seller promotes it with one of the better quality ads we’ve come across in a long time and even provides high resolution pictures that back up his description.  So, we’ll simply provide both below. Good Luck With the Purchase!

Craigslist Excerpt From The Private Seller’s Ad:

“This is a 1-owner 1975 Triumph TR6 w/42,348 orig. miles. Car was in storage since 1998. A meticulous body-on restoration was just completed. The car was rustproofed when it was new, so there was only a few small rust spots, and a few small holes with heavy pitting in the driver’s floor pan. All areas were repaired with new metal. The remainder of the body, trunk and undercarriage and chassis were completely solid and straight. The car was never in any accidents. The outer body panels are straighter and better aligned than when the car was new.
The interior is original, with the exception of the seat foam and rubber supports under them, carpets, floor mats, sunvisors, 3-point seatbelts, chrome door handles, rearview mirror and heater control cables are new. ALL weatherstripping and rubber gaskets inside and out have been replaced. The original boot is in the trunk. The snaps on it do not mate with the snaps that came with the new top; and the boot could be tailored to properly fit around the rollbar.
The exterior received a new Robbins top w/zippered window, new webbing, new base coat/clearcoat British Racing Green paint, and most of the chrome. The windshield is new due to a small chip, along with ALL rubber gaskets. Tires are new Firestone 205-70-15, along with new trim rings and chrome center caps, etc.
Mechanically, there is WAY too much to list. It received everything it needed, and many things it did not (ie. spin-on oil filter adapter, ball joints, tie rod ends, lubricating of rack, etc). Every hose, clamp, pumps, master and slave cylinders, brake and exhaust systems, etc, etc. have been replaced. I have all of the receipts to show what has gone into this car to make it the beauty that she is. I also have photos of the car before anything was done to it which shows that it was NOT a rusted hunk of junk prior to the restoring it.
I am asking $27,500 or Best Reasonable Offer. This is an investment that can be enjoyed, especially with such low mileage. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a viewing, feel free to contact me. Thanks for looking! Joe.”
