Jeep launched the hard cab pickup CJ-8 Scrambler in 1981.  To develop the pickup box, Jeep gave the CJ-8 a ten-inch longer wheelbase and then extended the rear overhang versus the CJ-7.  Buyers could choose either a hard fiberglass pickup cab with steel doors like the example featured here or a folding vinyl pickup top with vinyl doors.  Powertrain options were the same as the CJ-7.

The third owner of this Jamaican Beige over Nutmeg hard half-cab and Nutmeg interior received a cosmetic restoration in 2005 features a warmed-over 258 cubic inch straight six featuring an Offenhauser intake topped with a four-barrel Edelbrock (Weber) 1404 carburetor, and MSD Ignition.  Power is sent to the four-wheel drive system via a four-speed manual.   This Scramble also features a two-inch Rough Country lift-kit equipped with 15 inch Mickey Thompson wheels shod with 33×12.50R15LT Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires.  The seller states the decals are showing age and exposure to summer sun.
Good luck with the purchase!
