We discovered this Silver 1987 Jeep MJ Comanche pickup here on Craigslist in Hockessin, Delaware where the private seller has it listed for $4,200.  The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide lists the “Low”, “Average”, and “High” values for this truck at $3,400, $7,200, and $10,400, respectively, so the private seller appears to have his Comanche priced for a quick sale.

Launched one model year after the debut of the very popular XJ Cherokee, Jeep launched the MJ truck that was heavily based on that SUV.  Unlike the Cherokee, the Comanche used a conventional body-on-frame design behind the cab and a removable cargo box (Jeep labeled this C-channel based design “Uniframe’).  However the cab and front clip retained the unibody construction of the Cherokee.

The private seller briefly states that his Comanche features a refreshed four cylinder engine connected to a four-speed manual transmission.  He also states that it features a reupholstered interior as well as a solid frame.

We love the compact size of this truck that makes a unique alternative to the more common S10s and Rangers still running around.  Combine that with the proven off road chops of its XJ Cherokee sibling and we think this is a cool truck that will be welcome with open arms at any Radwood event.  Good luck with the purchase!
