We found this White over red 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Wagon Restomod here on Hemmings website offered by Vicari Auctions in Atlanta, Georgia. This wagon is lot number 18896 they plan to auction at their classic and muscle car event June 28-29 in Atlanta. The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Guide currently lists the “Low”, “Average”, and “High” values for these cars as a surprising $20,700, $37,100, and $76,700, respectively. Unless the seller set an unrealistic reserve price, we expect this example will auction at the lower end of that range.
The 1965 Chevelle line was the second year of new mid-size “A” platform Chevrolet introduced one year earlier. Using a 115-inch wheelbase, the first generation Chevelle was actually similar in size, simplicity, and concept to the vaunted 1955–1957 Chevrolet full size models.
The description says this Chevelle comes equipped with a later 350 cubic inch small block V8 connected to a TurboHydramatic 350 that sends power to a ten bolt rear axle. Other features include dual exhaust, a rebuilt air conditioning system, a power rear window, and a later model JVC stereo.
If the winning bidder can scoop this Malibu wagon for under $30,000 at the auction, we’ll consider this car “nicely bought.” Good luck with the purchase!
