We’re featuring this 1985 AMC Eagle Limited Wagon on Wagon Wednesday as a tribute to Lee Iacocca, who after saving Chrysler in the early 1980s strategically helped the company purchase AMC in 1985.  Lee passed away on July 2, 2019 at the age of 94.  God’s speed, Lido!

We came across this 1985 AMC Eagle Limited Wagon here on Craigslist in Brooklyn, New York where the private seller is asking $4,000.  The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide currently lists the “Low”, “Average”, and “High” values at $5,925, $8,550, and $13,000, respectively so he has his Eagle priced to sell.

Here is the owner’s description from his post:

“This is an 1985 AMC Eagle Limited. This is the first year with the good looking hood, no hood ornament. 4wd on the fly. I got this car from Colorado in 2017. I am selling to update to a modern car. This car has been reliable, but I have been driving increasingly long distances and want something newer. It been my daily driver. It has the original 258 inline 6 with 79k original miles. Motorcraft 2150 carb. This has NO ROT. Gets 22mpg+ highway. Cruise control works great. 4wd works great. This is loaded with options. It does not have the tow package. It has the typical AMC wear and tear. Clear coat on hood is practically gone. Interior leather has a tear in drivers seat. Some cracked plastic parts. All doors and handles work (typical problems). I have the original manual, window sticker and build sheet documenting all the options.”

These are great, tough vehicles that were way ahead of their time that set the stage for the popularity of SUVs and CUVs today.  Its also a great conversation piece that will gain you entry into any Radwood festival.  Good luck with the purchase!
