While searching for trucks for Tuesday’s feature, we came across this wild chopped top 1995 Dodge Dakota here on Craigslist in Merrimack, New Hampshire where the owner is asking $10,500 currently but is open to possible trades for the right Rat Rod or Hot Rod Gasser.  The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide currently lists the “Low”, “Medium” and “High” value range for this truck at $1,475, $3,350, and $4,775, respectively so potential buyers need to determine for themselves whether the roughly $5,000 premium in the price is worth all the chop top and other custom touches. Personally, we tend to think, “Yes!”

The private seller calls his Dakota a “Total Head Turner” and we can see why.  In addition to chopping the top, the builder added a powered sunroof from a late model extended cab pickup to make the cabin more airy.  It seems to work based on the pictures provided.  The other cool touch we love is the integration of a Mercedes-Benz single windshield wiper system;  that is attention to detail!

The drivetrain features a Mopar 318 cubic inch V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to a posi-traction rear end.  The engine features a  custom dual exhaust and custom tips that the seller states “will get you noticed.”  Comfort features include air conditioning, power windows, and a modern Sony MP3 radio.  This is a wild modern truck with a great profile that you would have a hard time replicating for $10,500.  Good luck with the purchase!
