July 22nd Update: We originally featured this Alfa GTV6 one month ago when the private seller offered it for $13,500 or best reasonable offer. We noticed that last night he still has his Alfa for sale and that he’s just lowered his asking price now to $11,500 or best reasonable offer, so he’s now more in line with what the market will bear for this car.
We found this Red over blue leather, 74K mile 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 Sports Coupe here on Craigslist located in Huntington, Long Island where the seller recently lowered his asking price to $11,500 but states he is open to reasonable offers. Based on the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool, the seller is currently asking $1,500 less than the #2 “Excellent” value of $13,000.
The Alfa Romeo Alfetta, or “little Alfa”, entered production in 1972 and carried through until 1987. By the time Alfa produced the example presented here in 1984 the car was renamed the GTV-6 three years earlier when they fitted a 2.5 liter V6 engine. In addition to their distinctive two door hatchback styling, Alfettas are known for the unique rear position of its transaxle and its DeDion rear suspension which make them excellent handling cars.
The private seller states that his GTV-6 is well sorted that “runs and drives perfect.” He also reports that all services are up to date, including the typical second gear issue already addressed with all receipts to back up that claim. In addition to a recent tune-up and fresh fluids, this Alfa features new brakes, fresh tires, a new alternator, and a new battery. The seller also states that all guages including the clock work properly.
Appropriate modifications include European spec ride height, period correct three-piece OZ Racing wheels, Ansa exhaust, and a rare European spec spoiler.
This is a fun car that Jeremy Clarkson adores to this day that will gain you admission and respect in your local car Italian car club. Good luck with the purchase!
