Mecum’s selection of vehicles for Fridays typically increases to  #2 “Excellent” condition and above as the “Big Money” crowd comes to see what the auction house has to offer. An interesting offering will be Lot F85, which is this Yellow over Gray Vinyl 1986 Toyota FJ-45 Land Cruiser Pickup. While Mecum labels this offering as a 1986 FJ-45, we’re pretty confident Toyota replaced the FJ-45 with the FJ-70 after 1984 that was not imported to North America, so we believe this restored example is a Bandeirante Brazilian model imported under the 25 year exemption rule.  In addition to receiving what’s labeled as “an extensive restoration” earlier this year, this unique FJ features air conditioning.  These are very rugged, capable, and dependable off-roaders and we love the unique pickup body this example features.  That said, this FJ almost looks to pretty to get dirty!
