We just noticed this 40K mile 1985 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce survivor posted on Friday here on Craigslist in Long Beach Island, New Jersey by the second owner who currently has it listed for $13,999. The Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the seller has his car priced about $200 more than the #2 “Excellent” level.
Alfa Romeo produced its beautiful Spider from 1966 to 1994 in four distinct series, each with modifications ranging from modest to extensive. The Series 3 Spider came to North America for the 1982 model year with a new Bosch electronic fuel injection replacing the troublesome SPICA mechanical injection. Other styling changes included a new black rubber front bumper incorporating the grille, while out back a new bumper combined with a small soft rubber spoiler updated the Spider’s rear.
We love the rare Verde Aqua that distinguishes this Spider from the sea of usual red examples we come across. The second owner reports his Spider is in mint condition and that it is always garaged. The black leather of the up-trim Veloce model looks well cared for and we love how the wood shift knob and steering wheel contrast the rest of the interior nicely. The second owner notes the only change being the installation of a Kenwood AM/FM radio with HiFi Polk Audio Speakers.
The second owner points out that both the engine and boot are detailed, however, he only provides a picture of the former.
Not only is it rare to find an Alfa Romeo in this unique color, it’s not often we come across a low mileage example in such wonderful condition. This appears to be a great example you can enjoy and be proud of showing at any event you elect to enter it in. Good luck with the purchase!
