We spotted this red over tan, 29K original mile, 1974 Ford F-100 Styleside Long Bed 2WD here on Craigslist in Baltic, Connecticut where a friend of the private seller has it listed currently for $10,500. Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide, the private seller has his low mileage survivor listed at $1,200 higher than the #3 “Good” level.
Ford introduced its sixth generation of its F-Series truck line in 1972 and continued production of it through 1979. These were the last generation of trucks to use the F-Series chassis introduced in 1965 but are better known for their body panels’ durability as Ford used extensive amounts of galvanized sheet metal, zinc coated steel, zinc rich primer, and fender liners to fight corrosion. This ’74 F-100 model pre-dated the introduction of the popular F-150 by two model years.
The friend of the private seller listing this truck does not know any details other than what is listed in the ad, so he recommends calling the seller directly. This 29K mile survivor is equipped with an eight foot bed, a 3-speed manual transmission with a “three-on-the-tree” column shifter on the column controlling power from the stock 302 cubic inch Ford small block V8.
This appears to be a great low mileage, un-abused, example in a nice color combination you can detail and take to any Ford-themed show that will get the admiration of all the other attendees. Good luck with the purchase!
