October 17th, 2019 Update:  this last-of-the-four-eye Fox-Body 1986 Mustang we first featured on September 5th is still available as the current caretaker just posted a fresh listing with their asking price reduced to $9,700.

Posted just the other day is this unmolested, 64K mile 1986 Mustang GT 5.0L five-speed you can find here on Craigslist in Merrick, New York (Long Island) where the private seller currently has it listed for $10,500.  Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a Guide, the private seller currently has his GT priced slightly less than halfway between the #2 “Excellent” value of $14,500 and the #3 “Good” level of $7,500.

While the body-cladded 1987-1993 GTs appear dated today, the last of the “four eye” third generation Fox-Bodied Mustangs have aged well.  1986 is a great model year for these cars as it features the 200 horsepower multi-port fuel injected 4.9L introduced the prior year combined with the stronger 10.5″ clutch and 8.8″ rear end.

The private seller reports his car is outstanding shape that has been garaged since new and features nearly $3,300 in recent service. Other than the upper sections of the seats showing fading (the red cloth in these is very sensitive to UV exposure from top down driving) and the sagging door map pockets, this Mustang presents very well. This appears to be a great unmolested example that will get you noticed at any RADwood festival you decide to drive it to.  Good luck with the purchase!
