October 2020 Update – We’re busy updating our database to accurately reflect the status of every car we’ve featured since starting GuysWithRides.com.  This rare Buick Hearse we first featured in September 2019 has since sold. This one may have got away, but if you have your heart set on something similar, email us the details of what you’re looking for or call Rudy directly at (908)295-7330.

What better vehicle to take your last trip as you “sleep” to that big garage in the sky than this 5.7L Chevrolet Small Block V8-powered 1993 Buick Roadmaster Hearse?  That’s what we thought when we first saw it listed on Craigslist in Pottstown, Pennsylvania where the current caretaker has it listed for $8,500.  The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide currently lists the “Low”, “Average”, and “High” value range for 1993 Roadmaster Estate Wagons at $1,600, $3,650, and $$5,125, respectively, so the premium requested here is for the coach-built chassis combined with the like-new condition.

Perhaps a morbid thought, the website for the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) states Cremations now surpass burials in the United States.  Combined with mourners’ increased desire for “Green” funerals, the traditional procession led by a rear-wheel-drive hearse to the cemetery is quickly becoming a rare sight.  Even rarer is seeing a hearse painted the light mint green of this example rather than the more traditional black.

The current caretaker, or more appropriately “undertaker” in this case, makes the bold statement “this is perhaps the cleanest Buick Roadmaster Hearse in the country…no lie!” Garage kept since day one, he also reports his hearse runs like a champ and there are no issues to report with only 33K miles.

If the next caretaker decides to keep this like-new hearse as is, they both will be welcomed with open at any upcoming National Hearse and Ambulance Association car show.  Good luck with the purchase!
