Posted earlier this week here on Craigslist in Point Pleasant, New Jersey is this 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited 36K mile survivor the original owner is asking $15,000 for.  The NADA Classic, Collectible, Exotic, and Muscle Car Appraisal Guide currently lists their “Low”, “Average”, and “High” value range at $2,650, $4,200, and $6,025.  While 1996 was the last year of Buick’s full-size, rear wheel drive, Roadmaster equipped with a detuned version of the Corvette LT1 V8 and this example is a low mileage, one owner survivor deserving some sort of price premium, $15,000 seems unrealistic and out of touch with the market.  Consequently, this seller earns our latest “NEW!” (short for “No Effin Way!) Award.

1996 marked the last year for GM’s full size, body on frame B-body sedans and station wagons as the corporation converted the Arlington, Texas assembly plant to focus on producing more full size SUVs gaining popularity at the time.  Equipped with a very tunable LT1 Chevrolet 5.7 liter V8, this essentially 23 year old new car could be a very fun full-size sleeper capable of 26 mpg on the highway.  If you can convince the original owner to be more realistic with his price, you’ll enjoy a comfortable land yacht the world will likely never see again.  Good luck with the purchase!
