Originally listed for sale in September 2019 on Craigslist in Mahwah, New Jersey by the original owner is this Terra Cotta Red over matching leather, 36.1K mile survivor. Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide, the original owner has their Coupe DeVille priced about halfway between the #2 “Excellent” level of $14,400 and the #3 “Good” value of $6,100.
The original owners state their Coupe DeVille is nicely equipped with the 472 cubic inch V8, AM/FM factory stereo, automatic climate control, six-way power seats, and even the original rubber floor mats. They also report they have “had a lot of work done to the car mechanically.” and that they rate the condition of their Caddy as “original” since the only cosmetic work are replacement rear bumper fillers. We note a couple of dents along the driver’s side of the car, however, there’s a good chance paint-less dent specialist can remove those if given the chance. The original owners also report they recently had the interior detailed and judging by the pictures provided it appears in like-new condition.
The engine compartment holding the massive 472 cubic inch (7.7 liters) V8 in place could use a thorough detailing to get it ready for the show circuit next year, but it does appear as original and consistent with the car’s low mileage.
This ’74 Coupe DeVille represents one of the last years GM offered a true full-size, body-on-frame, two-door coupe. You will enjoy the effortless driving experience every time you cruise in this beast. Good luck with the purchase!
