Listed on Monday is this lowered 1986 Chevrolet Silverado C10 Short Bed we noticed here on Craigslist in the lovely hamlet of Strykersville, New York by the private seller for $6,000.  Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide, the current caretaker has their truck realistically priced between the #3 “Good” value of $9,800 and the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) level of $4,200.

Ironically nicknamed “Square Bodies” today, Chevrolet called its third generation of C/K trucks introduced in 1973 the “Rounded Line” as their new truck featured many radius details not traditionally seen on pickup trucks up to that point.  Rounded details included: windshield corners, cab roof corners, door frames which cut high into the cab roof, slanted front fenders, and rounded pickup box corners.  Production of third generation C/K’s lasted through the 1987 model year with only minor changes.

The private seller of this ’86 Silverado reports this is a nearly rust-free example originally from North Carolina.  In addition to a 350 cubic inch crate motor, his C10 short bed also features a professionally built turbo 350 TurboHydramatic automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit.

We love how these Square Body Chevys just look so right with a three-inch lowered front end and a four-inch drop out back rear. With new tires and ball joints, this example appears to be a great specimen to either drive as is or start your next build.  Good luck with the purchase!
