October 7, 2020 Update – We continue to work feverishly to update older posts on our website. This ’71 Olds Cutlass featured in September of 2019 has long since sold.
Posted in September 2019 on Craigslist in Rock Hill, New York was this 73K original mile, 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible the private seller asked $18,500 or best reasonable offer for. Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide, the private seller currently has his Cutlass priced $1,900 higher than the #3 “Good” level of $16,600.
1971 represented the fourth model year for Oldmobile’s third-generation A-Body variant, the Cutlass Supreme, in production since 1968. Save for a new hood, grille, and headlight assembly, bumpers, and taillights, the 1971 model shared much of the same exterior sheet metal as the 1970 Cutlass. The big changes for ’71 can be found in the engine compartment where all engines now featured hardened valve seats and lower compression ratios designed to run on low-lead gasoline.
The current caretaker states his Cutlass is “in very good condition with no rust and very nice paint done by the previous owner.” His convertible also features a new stainless steel exhaust system and a new black convertible top. We love how good the 15″ 442 wheels look on this example. With power steering, power front disc brakes, and a great sounding Rocket 350 V8, this Cutlass represents a great summer ragtop you can thoroughly enjoy all summer long. Good luck with the purchase!
