Posted just yesterday here on Craigslist in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania is this 1955 Chevrolet Stepside 3100 pickup that is currently not running, so you’ll need to hire a flatbed to get it back to your garage.  The private seller is currently asking $6,000 for this complete but somewhat rusty project.  Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide confirms the private seller currently has his non-running truck priced $7,300 less than the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate.

The seller reports his 3100 is currently equipped with a 283 cubic inch small block connected to a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Oddly, he states that “he doesn’t know if it runs or not” so if you luck out and get this running and then combine it with a complete brake job, there’s a strong chance you won’t lose money on this investment.  The diamond plate in the cab’s step up area combine with the floor pictures provided hints that this truck’s rust was attended to in the past, but the quality of the work will likely not be up to restoration standards.  Consequently, we think this example makes an ideal candidate for a Hot-Rod, Rat-Rod, or perhaps even a restomod.  Whichever direction you choose, please comment below and let us know what you plan to do with it and keep us updated on your progress.

Good luck with the purchase!
