December 1st, 2019 Update – The private seller of this 122S deleted their Craigslist ad for this Volvo, so we’re calling this one “Sold!”

October 8th, 2019 Update:  while preparing for Wagon Wednesday, we learned that the owner of this very nice 1967 Volvo 122S Amazon we originally featured in early August that he once described as “a documented chick magnet” finally lowered his price $2,000 to $16,500 OBO.  You would be hard-pressed to find an Amazon wagon in this condition, let alone one with functional air conditioning.  Good luck with the purchase!

We saw this unrestored 1967 Volvo 122S Amazon station wagon once listed on Craigslist in Orford, New Hampshire and we immediately knew we had to feature it for Wagon Wednesday.  The private seller is currently asking $16,500 OBO for this example that he claims spent nearly all of its life traversing salt-free North Carolina roads.  Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool, the private seller currently has his Amazon priced $4,500 less than the #1 “Concours” level of $21,000 and $4,300 above the #2 “Excellent” level of $12,200.  With the values of these Volvos holding rock steady over the past three years, we predict that while the seller has lowered their original price, may have a hard time getting his lofty price and will end up accepting a decent “best offer” price.

Based on the pictures provided, this 122S is in excellent condition with only 80K original miles that feature its original running gear, paint, and a what the seller describes as “the most effective, thoroughly integrated, professionally designed, and upgraded modern AC system EVER installed in an Amazon.”  He also boldly states that their Amazon is “a documented Chick Magnet, not that there’s anything wrong with that.” So, you’ve been warned.  If you dare to be different but really want a classic Volvo, you really would be hard-pressed to do better than this example.  Good luck with the purchase!
