Posted just in time for Truckin Tuesday is this white over red 1968 Chevrolet C20 3/4 Ton pickup we noticed here on Craigslist in Walworth, New York where the private seller is currently asking $9,000 for it which, relying on the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool shows he currently has his C20 smartly priced halfway between the #3 “Good” value of $11,600 and the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $6,600. If you are seriously about buying this truck, you can text the private seller at 585-880-0349.
Chevrolet produced its popular second generation C/K pickup from 1967 through model year 1972. Nicknamed “The Action Line”, General Motors recognized a growing number of consumers were buying pickups for non-commercial use, so GM began to add comfort and convenience items consumers preferred over the basic features commercial buyers were used to. Both the half- and three-quarter ton version of these trucks came standard with a coil spring trailing arm rear suspension which provided a much smoother ride. Its worth noting that three-quarter ton C20 examples such as the one presented here could be ordered with traditional leaf springs
The private seller simply reports his C20 has 75K original miles, “runs and drives well,” and comes equipped with a 327 cubic inch small block V8 connected to a TurboHydramatic 400 automatic transmission. The presence of both power steering and power brakes make this an easy truck to drive in town and on the highway. The current caretaker states his C20, “has original rocker panels, cab corners, and floors.” so we’re hopeful he’s pointing out how solid these known rust spots are as opposed to hinting these may need attention. An in-person inspection will verify which case is true.
What really sets this truck off is the Custom Level trim, which on these “Action Line” pickups took the interior to a whole new level with vinyl door panels, padded dashboard, headliner and carpeting. Even better is the bright red interior on this example appears to be in like- new condition, so you’ll need to confirm with the seller whether its original or has been restored at some point.
If you’re looking for a ’67-’72 vinatge Chevrolet C20, this nicely optioned white-over-red example appears to make a compelling alternative and provides the benefit of being able to drive it while you make your own personal touches as your time and budget permit. Good luck with the purchase!
