Listed on Craiglist in Franklin Square, New York (Long Island) is this Ash Green 1952 MG TD that appears to be cosmetically restored and only in need of rebuilding the engine and then final assembly. The current caretaker is currently asking $8,500 for his stalled project which judging by the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool for this car shows he currently has it priced right at the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $8,500. Here’s the seller’s description of the current state of his MGTD:
“MGTD 1952 restoration needs completion, all the hard stuff has been done, everything was bead blasted down to bare metal, all body work and paint was professionally done. The motor is out of the car and needs to be rebuilt. Most of the interior is done Comes with all the original parts.”
With all of the bodywork and most of the interior complete, this appears to be an excellent project you can realistically have finished in time for spring. With #2 “Good” examples currently fetching $15,000 this car has a lot of potential upside if you decide to list it for sale once you complete the work. Whichever path you choose, good luck with the purchase!
