Red Rockt: 1994 Volvo 940 Wagon Non-Running Project Car – SOLD!

Nov 2019 | Classifinds, Wagon Wednesday

February 6, 2020 Update – we confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

If you’ve been itching to build your very own flying brick, for $350 you may not be able to find a better candidate than this 203k original mile 1994 Volvo 960 Estate once listed on Craigslist in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania by the current caretaker for $350.

Volvo launched its new 960 in the fall of 1990 as a 1991 model year replacement for the 760.  While styling wise it was very similar, the most significant change was the new 960 came equipped with an all-new aluminum 201 horsepower 24-valve double overhead cam inline-six often referred to as “white block” in the Volvo community due to its bare aluminum block.  The 960 was the last front-engine, rear-drive wagon produced by Volvo.

We like this Volvo because at only $350 and 203K miles this car appears to be itching for an LS V8 swap.  Comment below on what you would do with this 960.  Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“The red rocket! Nonturbo. New struts, new battery, new water pump, new radiator, recent tuneup and oil change, great pioneer stereo with BT and subwoofer, transmission is strong, grey cloth interior is pretty darn good also. If you can drop in a new engine you will have a great car. Coolant issue, possible head gasket. Not running. Macho roof rack included, but Thule carrier not included. NOTE: clearcoat damage on left front fender, and someone stole LF turn signal. Price Reduced to $350.
