Great Friend: 2003 Jaguar XK8 Convertible – Sold!
While not as beautiful as an E-Type, Jaguar’s modern interpretation of that car, the stunning XK8 is a looker in its own right. especially when its an immaculate low mileage survivor such as this 19,672 original mile, Indigo Blue over cream leather we found posted on Craigslist in Newtown, Pennsylvania where the owner of the past 14 years is currently asking $19,945 or best offer. Not only did the seller incorrectly list his Jag as a 2008, but we’re also not sure what he’s using as a baseline for his asking price. While the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool for the Supercharged XKR lists its #2 “Excellent” and #3 “Good” estimates at $21,500 and $17,600, respectively the NADA Classic Car Online Tool’s “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range for this base version is only $3,700, $4,975, and $7,575, respectively. This is a stunning example to be sure, however, you’ll need to confirm the seller understands the difference between the two XK models.
Jaguar launched its beautiful XK8 in 1996 to replace its dated XJS. XK8s came in two body styles: a three-door hatchback coupé and a two-door convertible with both variations featuring 2+2 seating. The XK8 was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use the company’s newly developed 32-valve, four-liter AJ-V8 which in 2002 was enlarged to 4.2 liters.
Incorrect title and pricing expectations aside, we love the story of this immaculate Jaguar. The current caretaker bought this Jaguar for a friend 14 years ago who is no longer able to drive it. It’s clear from the great pictures provided this is a stunning Jaguar that’s been properly maintained mechanically and cosmetically. Good luck with the purchase!
