Must Sell This Week: 1978 Dodge D150 – $3,000
Loyal “Mopar or No Car” fans looking for an older, low cost daily driver quality D150 may want to take a deeper dive into this example listed Monday here on Craigslist in Englishtown, New Jersey where the seller is asking $3,000 currently, which relying on the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide shows the current caretaker has his D150 priced to sell $700 less than the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $3,700. The private seller Vince indicates he needs to sell his truck this week, so if you are serious about purchasing it you can call him at (732) 616-3461 to start the conversation.
Dodge introduced its redesigned third generation D series pickups in 1972 and produced it through the 1980 model year with only minor changes. In addition to its more rounded look over the prior version, third generation D Series featured an independent front suspension and innovative recessed tail lights design to prevent being damaged when loading the bed. These trucks were built with a considerable amount of galvanized steel to resist rust and corrosion, as the example featured here exemplifies.
From the pictures provided and the seller’s description of what he’s replaced already in this truck, it appears this will make a nice daily for a diehard vintage Mopar fan on a budget. Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
