Pseudo Patina: 1947 Ford Pickup Restomod – $16,000

Dec 2019 | Classifinds, Truckin Tuesday

Whenever we come across an old Hot-Rodded or Restomod Ford pickup, we prefer to see it built with a Ford powertrain such as the 1947 F-1 we came across here on Craigslist in Middle Island, New York (Long Island) where the current caretaker is now asking $16,000 for it.  The NADA Guides Classic Car Online Valuation Tool currently lists its “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range for these trucks at $16,000, $30,700, and $81,200, respectively. If you are serious about purchasing this truck, you can start the conversation by calling Dennis at (631) 205-9252.

In addition to the modern small block Ford 302 cubic inch V* connected to a Ford automatic overdrive (“AOD”) transmission and eight-inch rear end, if this truck is truly a ’47, than its one of the last trucks in this pre-war body style produced as Ford launched its first generation F-Series in late ’47 when those new trucks actually went on sale in January 1948. That fun fact aside, we like the green over red color scheme and what appears to be a period-correct shifter modified to control the modern automatic unit.  You’ll fool more than a few people as you cruise around in this resto mod.  Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“For sale is a 1947 ford pickup resto rod. Has patina that everyone is looking for. 302 motor, aod overdrive transmission 8′ ford rear all new brake system disc in front drum rear, duel exhaust, new fuel system, all new wiring, aluminium radiator, finished interior, ground up resto. Under is as good as the top. Looks old but is all new and updated. Come see, call 631-205-9252 ” reduced from 17,500.00
