Living on the edge of farm country here in central Jersey, we see a lot of guys driving diesel-powered pickups such as this 1993 Cummins 5.9L six cylinder turbo diesel powered Dodge D250 Sweptline listed here on Craigslist near our office in Flemington, New Jersey.  The seller mentions he’s firm on price and in no hurry to sell and that’s good because based on the NADA Guides Classic Car Online Valuation Tool, he has truck priced well above the current “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range of  $2,550, $4,888, $6,761, respectively.  If you are serious about purchasing this truck and want to start the conversation with the private seller, you can test or call him at (908) 442-6665.

We struggle with the asking price of this truck.  While we acknowledge is well equipped and rust free, with peeling paint and 155K original miles, its still a good used diesel truck.  This appears to be a classic case of a seller valuing his truck on the sum of the individual parts rather than accepting the truck as a whole is worth less.  Hopefully, you can convince him of this and get him to lower his price down to reality.  Good luck with the purchase – please don’t roll coal past our office after you complete the sale!

This has been a great truck, but i don’t drive it enough to justify keeping it. I have put a lot of time and money into it to make it as reliable as can be, and fun to drive at the same time. If you don’t like the price, don’t contact me please. Yes, it’s fast. Yes, it sounds good. Yes, it blows black smoke if you want it to.

– stage 2 fuel pin
– 5×14 injectors
– KDP was fixed
– Custom intake
– manual fuel shut off in cab
– custom 4” exhaust
– custom stainless steel braided turbo oil feed and oil drain lines.
– professionally tuned injection pump
– tappet cover gasket & grommets replaced (preventative maintenance)
– needs a new a/c compressor
– new belt tensioner
– new water pump
– engine oil changed every 5,000 miles along with fuel filters and oil filter
– high volume piston lift pump conversion to do away with the stock weak lift pump

Factory bench seat in great shape. Headliner is sagging. Full screen radio with back up camera which works great for hooking up to a trailer. Truck is also tinted all the way around which did cost a lot of money to do since it’s old style glass. Dash and trim is all like new, no cracks, all gauges work and always did work. 155,000 ORIGINAL miles. Cruise control works great – sliding rear window – power windows, power locks, power mirrors. Steering is not loose.
Body – truck has NO rust. Some dings. Some dents. Nothing major. But NO RUST!!! Mickey Thompson aluminum wheels with nice tires. Tailgate is perfect. People have offered me $1,500 alone for the tailgate. $1,000 for the factory tach. $1,500 for the bed. Please don’t waste my time with low ball offers. You will not find another one with “low” miles, with all factory options, this clean, for the money. I am in no rush to sell it. Open to trades for a fummins / newer cummins dodge ford chevy cummins swapped. Must be stick.
