Most Alfa Romeo Spiders we come across feature red exteriors, so we tend to pass on project cars in that color.  However, when we came across this Celeste Chiaro(Light Blue) over dark blue leather 1984 Spider Veloce 2.0 on Craigslist in Port Chester, New York with a negotiable price of only $2,000 we believe the rare color combination is worth it to restore.  A quick check of the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the private seller has his Alfa priced $5,700 below the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $7,700 so there’s a chance someone can restore this beauty back to its former glory without being underwater.  Based on his need for this car to be gone from his Dad’s house in Queens ASAP, we’re thinking an offer of $1,500 will stick as the private seller Mario indicates he’s negotiable on price.

Alfa Romeo produced its beautiful Spider from 1966 to 1994 in four distinct series, each with modifications ranging from modest to extensive.  The Series 3 Spider came to North America for the 1982 model year with a new Bosch electronic fuel injection replacing the troublesome SPICA mechanical injection. Other styling changes included a new black rubber front bumper incorporating the grille, while out back a new bumper combined with a small soft rubber spoiler updated the Spider’s rear.

Inside, while the seats require new leather, it appears from the lone picture the dashboard is crack-free.  While the limited pictures appear to indicate a solid body, we are concerned about the state of the lower driver’s side door panel. It’s a safe bet to assume this Alfa is in non-running condition, so you’ll need to confirm whether Mario what it may need to get running again.  If you’re willing to take the plunge into the deep waters of Alfa project car ownership, this may be a candidate worthy of consideration.  Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“Vehicle is a project car. I have it sitting at my dads house in queens. Need Gone ASAP so price is negotiable. Towing vehicle to u is also negotiable.
