Supercharged Slicktop: 1994 Buick Park Avenue Ultra – Sold!
If you’re looking for a cheap, comfortable highway cruiser that’s reliable as dirt, gets decent gas mileage, yet can hold its own at most stop light drag races while gaining you and five of your friends admission to RADWood, then you need to buy this 1994 Buick Park Avenue Ultra listed on Craigslist near Dover, Delaware. The caretaker of the past four years has it listed at $3,950, which a quick check of the NADA Guides Online Classic Car Valuation Tool confirms the asking price falls within the “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range of $2,125, $2,750, and $4,175, respectively.
Buick produced the first generation Park Avenue Ultra from 1991 through 1996 on GM’s “C” Platform. While you might quickly dismiss this sedan as just another boring Buick, not only do these cars carry an immense amount of luxury features, under the hood sits Buick’s 240 horsepower supercharged 3.8 liter V6. While not quite as powerful or luxurious as the later second-generation models, these are still luxurious and powerful “sleepers” that go fast, but look slow doing it.
We really like this Park Avenue as it appears to be in great shape other than the clear coat issue the seller mentions about the roof. The seller states, “you could eat off the floor…” however we think he was referring to the floor of a barn as this car’s interior could use a vacuuming. Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
“This is a DE registered antique car in almost perfect condition and was garaged kept until I purchased it 4 years ago. It’s a rare Ultra model which has the SUPERCHARGED engine and gets 28 mpg on the highway. I average 23 mpg. The car has ZERO rust and ZERO dents. The only issue is a small area of paint that is flaking on the roof. The car runs and drives like new. When I purchased it 4 years ago it had 77,000 mile on it. Now it has 92,000. The color is Dark Cherry metallic, I’ve done regular maintenance as required including oil changes, new battery and 4 new tires. The interior is perfect condition, you could eat off the floor its flawless. $3950. Thanks for looking!“
