Cookie Monster Blue: 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham – Sold!
Two-door personal luxury coupes enjoyed huge popularity through most of the 1970s and early 1980s, with Oldsmobile’s Cutlass Supreme at the top of the category based on annual sales. After years of success, 1984 was a turning for sales of the Cutlass Supreme such as this 80K original mile example first listed in January 2020 on Craigslist in Farmingdale, New York as consumers flocked to Chrysler’s new seven-passenger mini-van that year.
The current caretaker of this Cutlass Supreme indicates he is moving back to California and has his car listed at $4,500. A quick scan of the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool for a similar Calais Hurst model as a proxy confirms the private seller has his Olds priced $4,800 less than the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $9,300.
A highly optioned example in which the seller indicates everything works combined with what appears to be a very solid body, this Cutlass is a great entry-level car into the collector car hobby as it doesn’t appear to need anything other than a good engine detailing. Our fear is that at this price point, it may be tempting for someone to start modifying this clean example. We hope the next caretaker avoids that temptation and keeps this Cutlass as is. Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
