Our first Action Line feature is this 1969 Chevrolet C10 listed on Craigslist in Johnsonburg, New Jersey with only a stated 48,000 original miles yet sports a new 350 cubic inch small block V8 and a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission with an asking price of $13,500.   Checking the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms this private seller has his C10 priced $2,500 below the current #3 “Good” estimate of $16,000.

The black paint in the limited pictures provided for this example appears to be shiny and the panels appear straight which would be consistent for a truck showing only 48K original miles.  As good as the exterior appears to be, the red custom interior is what really shines as the current caretaker added a Southern Rods heat and air conditioning system to compliment the updated upholstery, dashboard, radio, and gauges.  While the private seller calls the current carpet “fine”, a replacement rug with sound deadening that needs to be installed will be included as part of the sale.  It’s not clear from the seller’s description whether they were factory original, however, this truck is equipped with new power brakes and power steering which are nice upgrades if they are not listed on the glove box door Protecto-Plate.

While the seller lists a “new” motor and transmission, it’s not clear whether that means these are truly new, rebuilt, or are used finds from a donor vehicle so you’ll need to confirm that with the seller.  GM’s  700R4 automatic came equipped with an overdrive fourth gear, so the engine will spin much lower at highway speeds.  The transmission is now floor controlled but it’s clear the steering column originally house the shifter.  This is a nice all-around ’69 C10 you can cruise in comfort regardless of the temperature outside.  Personally, we would buff out the owner’s name currently on the driver’s door and remove the toolbox as soon as we arrived back at our garage, but that’s just us.  Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“This truck has a new 350 motor and a 700 R4 Trans with only two thousand miles . Total original miles are 48,000.
