All Business: 1987 Buick Grand National T-Top – Sold!
A Buick Grand National was the car I really wanted to buy myself as a graduation present to myself for getting through engineering school. Unfortunately, the stars were not aligned as 1987 was the final year for Buick’s G-Body Grand National and at that point, I still had another year of school to go. Had the stars been aligned, I would have ordered a model very similar to this 1987 example posted on Craigslist in Fair Haven, New Jersey with only 47,000 original miles the current caretaker has listed for $25,000. A check of the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms this private seller has his GN priced $3,900 below the current #3 “Good” estimate of $28,900 so we agree with his comment he won’t entertain low ball offers as he won’t have to. While we don’t agree with the seller’s bold assessment “you won’t find a cleaner one,: based on the pictures provided and the realistic price given current market demand for these cars, we really like this RADwood eligible Grand National that can hold its own against virtually any V8-powered muscle car you end up next to a stoplight. Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
“Recently restored, only 47k miles. Has a ton of mods done including a 62mm precision turbo, all supporting mods including diamond pistons, forged rods, billet mains, a upgraded oil pump and a whole lot of other stuff. Built trans to handle the power. Factory t top car. New business mandates sale but I’m not entertaining lowball offers. You’ll have a very hard time finding a cleaner one.“
