Hey Butternut: 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Wagon Project – Sold!
March 18th Update: in our quest for fresh station wagon listings, we came across a new Craigslist post for this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu station wagon project we first featured in early January. However, this is one of those cases where the seller believes the warmer weather warrants a higher price and thus has now increased their asking price from $3,500 to $3,800. We’ve updated the link below. Good luck with the purchase!
If you’re looking for a well-optioned Chevelle Malibu station wagon project for your next build, this Butternut yellow over blue vinyl ’67 we came this listing on Craigslist in Hampton TWP, New Jersey for $3,500 or best offer might fit the bill. With the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool currently listing the #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) condition at $10,900 and the #2 “Excellent” condition showing $22,100, while this example clearly has rusty floors and body panels in need of attention, there is a chance you can get the body and exterior back to excellent condition without being underwater. The private seller says that he’s willing to deal with anyone who shows up with cash and a trailer.
While we get a “flip” vibe from the private seller’s description (…”Looks like it was sitting since 1982″…) that may not provide the complete history, we like that despite being a Jersey car all of its life, its a well-optioned example that includes factory air conditioning. Given this example has remained stock all of its life, we’d hope someone decides to restore it rather than adding it to the growing stable of Restomod and Street Machine 60’s Chevelles you find at local car shows. Regardless of the path you choose to take with this Malibu, good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1967 Chevelle Malibu wagon. 283, power glide, ac, ps, factory butternut yellow exterior. Needs it all, full restoration or perfect rat rod, project or parts car. Already has lots of “patina” aka rust and rot. Yes, it’s been a Jersey car all its life and it shows. Last inspection sticker expired in 1982. Looks like it was sitting since. Very original and complete 98,000 mile car. Never messed with, uncut dash, all ac stuff there, good glass. Clear NJ title in my name. Runs and yard drives, no brakes. Original hood, hinges, better rear bumper and left fender for patchwork come with it. Price is $3500. Want a better price? No problem. I’m reasonable. Show up with cash and a trailer and we’ll deal. I do enjoy all 60s – 70s cars and muscle cars like Impala, Chevelle, Nova, Cutlass, 442, Skylark, GS, Catalina, Firebird, Trans Am, Galaxie, Mustang, Torino, Coronet, Road Runner, Charger, AMC ect but currently the only trades I’d be interested in are similar value 1964-1972 Pontiac Lemans, Tempest,GTO or an enclosed trailer 20 foot or larger. Thanks“
