March 29th Update:  When we first featured this 1975 Hurst/Olds W25 on December 15th, the private seller’s asking price was $15,495.  Just before the weekend, we noticed a fresh listing for this car using the same pictures and description however the price has now been increased $1,500 to $16,995.  You’ll have to confirm with the seller their rationale for increasing the price, especially in light of recent events.  If you confirm their justification for the slightly higher price, please comment below and let us know what you learn.  Good luck with the purchase!

GM’s Colonade Hardtop Coupes introduced in 1975 were very good-looking cars out of the box, however, Oldsmobile’s Hurst/Olds W25 like the one first seen for sale in January 2020 in Brick, New Jersey takes it up a notch. Currently asking $15,495, a check of the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the current caretaker has his fancy Cutlass priced about $1,500 higher than the  #3 “Good” estimate of $15,500.  We’ve watched this car posted for about the past two months and at first, we thought this might be a car broker however based on the pictures it looks to be a private seller who happens to have an extensive collection.

Capitalizing on their success with the 442, Hurst continued to partner with Oldsmobile to offer the Hurst/Olds Sport Coupe. By 1975, this trim level package was based on the formal roofline Cutlass and was the first General Motors car to have “Hurst/Hatch” removable T-Top style roof installed. 1975 versions were available in either black or white, with either a black or white half vinyl top offset by a wide aluminum band. The W-25 version, like the one featured here, came equipped with an Oldsmobile 350 engine. 1975 was the first year of federally mandated catalytic converters, so consequently, only a single exhaust was available. Hood mounted center louvers continued for 1975 while gold stripes adorned the sides of the car, as well as the trunk, hood, and mirrors. The car also carried gold 15″x7″ Super Stock III Oldsmobile rims. Interiors featured new reversible vinyl/velour seat cushions and backs for the all-vinyl swivel Strato bucket seats. The most popular interior color combination on ’75 Hurst/Olds was white seats and door panels, and black carpet, dashboard, steering wheel, and console.
