Knuckle Dragger: 1949 Dodge Pickup Rat Rod – Sold!
While we respect the hard work and ingenuity that goes into building a Rat Rod, many examples we come across do not appear to be very well engineered. This 1949 Dodge pickup based example listed on Craigslist in Gasport, New York (Between Buffalo and Rochester) appears to be a notable exception worthy of featuring here. While the listing instructs serious buyers to “Call Mike”, no phone number is provided. Between what appears to be nicely preserved authentic “Davi’s Garage” door graphics and the properly lowered air ride frame, this Dodge captures the look and feel of the Rat Rod movement. With the fame only four inches off the ground, you could practically scrape your knuckles on the ground if you stick your arm out the door window. We only wish the seller, whom we hope is also the builder, provided more details on what it took to build this creation. While the Rat Rod movement thrives on using what you have lying around in your garage, you’d be hard-pressed to replicate what’s provided here for the asking price of $15,000. Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s brief description:
“49 Dodge rat rod 350 with a 3-speed dump body air ride all the toys 4 inches off the ground call -mike“
