Pick a Number: 1967 Buick Electra 225 Convertible – NOW $28,275 OBO
June 17th Update: okay, pick a number. One more month gone, apparently no takers at $31,750, so now we see a brand new post from this past weekend with the price lowered to $28,275 and the seller now indicates he is open to realistic offers, so we would start at $24,000 and see where you land with this wonderful yacht.
May 14th Update: well, just when you think you’ve seen it all, you learn you haven’t. When seeing this beautiful and rare 1967 Buick Electra 225 listed on Craigslist, we realized we originally featured this stunning car last November 13th when the current caretaker listed his Deuce-And-A-Quarter drop-top for $26,700 or best reasonable offer. Fast forward six months and we find the same seller now asking $31,750 despite the fact no only are we in midst of a global pandemic the values of these great cars have declined slightly. We’ve updated the links below as well as the references to the prices then and now. Good luck with the purchase and if you buy it our offer listed below still stands!
Re-posted since we first featured this beautifully big Buick here on Craigslist in Farmingville, New York is this 62K original mile, silver over red vinyl, 1967 Buick Electra 225 convertible the second owner is now asking $31,750 (versus $26,700 last fall) or reasonable offer for. Using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a guide indicates its currently priced between the current #1 “Concours” appraisal of $39,200 and the #2 “Excellent” estimate of $24,400 (last fall Hagerty’s estimates were $40,200 and $25,400 If you are serious about purchasing this gorgeous Buick, you call or text the seller at (631) 786-5244 between 9am and 9pm and when you do please remember to mention his listing was featured both last November and today here on GuysWithRides.com.
As a prior owner of a ’68 225 convertible, albeit nowhere near the shape this example is in, I can attest these are truly land yachts as the two doors share the larger “C’ body common parts with the Oldsmobile 98 and Cadillac DeVille. Produced from 1965 through 1969, for 1967 these Coke bottle inspired two doors received a moderate facelift highlighted including a split grille and bumper-mounted tail lights. Under the hood Buick’s new 430 cubic-inch V8 rated at 360 hp equipped with a Rochester four-barrel carburetor replaced the previous “Nailhead” 401 and 425 V8s. If you’re looking for an original unmolested late sixties Buick land yacht, I doubt you’ll do much better than the example presented here. This car also makes a compelling candidate for the Antique Automobile Club of America’s (AACA) “Preservation Full, Original Features” class if you’re interested in showing the car. If you buy it, we’ll give you some fee Guys With Rides merch if you give us a ride in your “new” Deuce-and-a-Quarter! Good luck with the purchase!

This was the Buick Flagship of 1967, their most expensive model. Extremely rare color combination seldom seen before the late 1970’s and almost unheard of on a 1960’s GM Luxury Car.
To date, after extensive research no other 1967 Electra 225 has been found in this particular color combination however 1 wildcat and 2 skylarks were found. A trophy winner, this car is a crowd favorite and draws attention wherever it is, at a car show or on the road.

And now from last fall:
“1967 Buick Electra 225 Custom Convertible.
Nicely equipped with 430 V8, Auto, A/C, P/S, P/B, P/W, P/Seat, P/Antenna, P/Top, everything works.
Completely original interior including seats, dash, door panels even the carpeting. The convertible top is factory original with glass back window and works perfectly. Matching factory top boot is included and in excellent condition.
Never a daily driver, this car has always been a pampered summer weekend toy for the 2 elderly gentleman previous owners. Garaged in climate controlled comfort for 35 years and it shows in it’s well preserved condition.
This is an extremely rare color combination for a GM car of this era.
Front end rebuilt, sway bar upgraded, new rear springs and shocks, new Cooper radial tires with OE style 1″ whitewalls. New wheel cylinders and shoes. Original engine rebuilt to stock+ specs and runs like new. New cooling system. New dual exhaust with polished stainless tips. Too many new parts to list them all. Transmission serviced and works perfectly. A/C converted to r134. Original mileage believed to be just over 62,000.
This is a preservation of an excellent condition original car, not a restoration. All replaced OE parts have been retained and come with the car. I have tried my best to maintain the cars originality because It’s So Original. NOS and OE items were obtained when possible and practical.
This car is sorted out and turn key, needs nothing. Recent health issue forces sale of my drop top land yacht. It’s a full size luxury classic that draws attention wherever it goes and even on the way there.
Many original parts and some extras come with the car, there are other items available at extra cost.
Asking $26,700 Price is negotiable.”
