July 14th Update: Fast forward another two months and this morning we came across a third new listing for this very cool 1963 GMC stepside restomod. The professional-quality pictures reveal what appears to be an excellent and thoroughly detailed, professional-quality build that will likely not disappoint.
May 12th Update – when we first featured this very cool ’63 GMC Restomod on April 7th, the current caretaker was “testing the waters” with an asking price of $36,000. Fast forward one month and we discovered he’s retesting the waters with a fresh post offered at $40,000 and saying in the first sentence, “Everything is for sale at the right price.” Yes, it is. Good luck with the purchase.
Posted just last night in time for Truckin’ Tuesday is this 1963 GMC step side restomod on Craigslist in Summit, New Jersey where the seller states he’s “testing the waters” with a revised asking price increased $4,000 to $40,000. Checking the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the asking price is higher than the #1 “Concours” estimate of $29,400 but then again this is anything but a stock old truck.
The extremely detailed description provided by the seller combined with the excellent photographs tells it’s own story that we can’t add to here. With the prices of average brand new trucks easily exceeding $40,000 with just basic options, this thoroughly updated vintage truck makes a compelling alternative to use as a daily driver when weather permits. Good luck with the purchase!

For reference, here’s the seller’s excellent original description:

The build took nearly 18 months to address each and every detail of this high end patina sport truck build. The truck is a 1963 GMC step side that has been modified to an awesome daily driver. The Original frame was boxed and modified with a Ride-Tech strong arm kit to have coil overs on all 4 corners. The truck ride height is adjustable on its 20′ wheels with Toyo Proxes tires and handles like it is on rails. The power terrain is a fresh 5.3LS with T56 6-speed manual transmission. A 17 gallon fuel cell has been placed under the bed to make room for the TMI custom interior in the cab. The truck sounds great with its Borla exhaust and electric dumps when you want to turn heads. Just flick a toggle on the dash and it will bypass the mufflers. The custom dash panel has been hand fabricated and is all electronic with LED warning and blinker lights.
