Desert Find: 1969 Ford F-100 Styleside Mild Custom- NOW $19,250
August 5th Update – Most times when we see a Craigslist post expire without a replacement, its safe to assume the private seller found the next caretaker for their classic. That didn’t turn out to be the case for this mildly customized 1969 Ford F100 we first featured in late March. The new listing uses the same pictures with the price lowered from $22,500 to $19,250.
There’s just something about an old truck with a dropped rake and modern American Racing style wheels that always gets our attention. The latest example is this 1969 Ford F100 listed earlier this week here on Craigslist in Butler, New Jersey with a stated 42,000 original miles the current caretaker states was found in the New Mexico Desert after sitting 30 years. Nicely updated underneath, the current seller is now asking $19,250, which is down from his original ask of $22,500. A check of the NADA Guides Classic Car Online Valuation Tool confirms this private seller has his F-100 priced towards the lower end of the current “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range of $15,900, $23,000, and $41,225, respectively. Using a stock example as a proxy, the lower asking price falls between the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Guide’s #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $27,600 and the #3 “Good” estimate of $15,600. If you are serious about buying this F-100, you can start the conversation by calling Robert at (201) 218-2912.
Ford produced the fifth generation of its F-series pickup trucks from 1967 through 1972. Built on the same platform as the prior generation F-series trucks, the fifth gen F-series sported sharper styling lines, a larger cab, and expanded engine options.
We’re assuming the seller’s references to “FE” heads and intake upgrades means his truck is equipped with a 390 cubic inch V8. The engine looks to be nicely upgraded and comes with a dyno print out to confirm the 450 horsepower output. With a rock solid body and an updated power train, the only thing you need to do during an in-person inspection is to confirm the condition of the interior as no pictures are included in the seller’s post. Good luck with the purchase!
