Classifind Cut 7: 1953 Willys Aero Eagle Two Door Hardtop Project – SOLD!

Oct 2020 | Classifind Cut, Classifinds, Free For All Friday

December 10, 2020 Update – we confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

As a classic car enthusiast, you are likely well aware of the iconic Willys Wagon and Jeepster the company produced following World War II.  Are you also aware that Willy tried their hand at producing cars during the early 1950s?  This 1953 Willys Aero Eagle Two-Door Hardtop currently originally listed on Craigslist in October 2020 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania is a rare survivor of that endeavor, albeit in project form. Handicapped with a seized Hurricane engine, this rare car otherwise appears to be very complete, has a very restorable body in a great color combination.  With pristine Concours examples not able to fetch $20K, this Eagle makes a great candidate for an LS swap, or dare we say it: an interesting Electric Vehicle (“EV”) conversion.

Here’s the seller’s description:

“This is a really solid 1953 Willys Eagle 2 door hardtop. These are fairly rare cars with only about 5000 produced. It had been in dry storage since 1974. A low mileage car showing 49K. original with no modifications except being repainted pale green over the original Nassau Cream. I have not been able to get the engine freed up. Have been soaking it but no luck. There are only two small rust spots, one under the back seat and below the trunk lid. It has a 161 cubic inch Hurricane engine with a three-speed and overdrive. There is some stainless molding missing on the driver’s side and some of the paint was starting to be removed.”
