Fox Body Wagon: 1983 Ford LTD Station Wagon – SOLD!
December 1st Update: We just confirmed the private seller of this ride deleted their Craigslist ad, so we’re now able to call this one “Sold!” While this one got away, if you have your heart set on something similar, email us the details of what you’re looking for or call Rudy directly at (908)295-7330.
If you dare to be different and want the ultimate 80s RADwood-eligible sleeper Fox-Body station wagon, then feast your eyes on this silver-over-gray, 30K original mile 1983 Ford LTD Station Wagon originally listed in October 2020 on Craigslist in Corinth, Maine with an asking price of $3,750. Researching the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool reveals the private seller has their LTD priced $400 higher than this guide’s #3 “Good” estimate of $3,350.
With the Fox-Body-based second-generation square-off Granada a dismal sales flop, for 1983 Ford replaced that car with a more stylish and downsized LTD lineup. With Fox Body mechanicals lurking underneath, just about the full complement of Mustang high-performance parts for this era will also fit this LTD. For under four large, this is the perfect candidate for a 5.0L engine swap from a donor Fox Body Mustang.
Here’s a video of exactly what we envision someone doing with this LTD wagon:
If you end up buying this low-mileage Fox Body, please keep us informed on what you end up doing with it and Good luck with the purchase!
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1983 Ford LTD station wagon. 3.8 V6 automatic transmission. 30,263 miles. Power steering, power brakes, no AC. The gas gauge is stuck on empty. This car was stored for 30 years inside a building. Good tires, good brakes, no rust or body damage. The interior is like new. The car has a new battery and gas tank, new plugs, wires and cap, new oil filter, air filter, gas filter, oil, and grease. The car has a new inspection. I don’t have the title, but it’s not needed for this old car.“

That’s a lot of money for a shitty 3.8L V6 (I’d prefer the straight six) and no power anything or a/c. By 1983 a/c was a given and in a LTD power windows and locks should be to. The body is clean and the interior is really nice. But I can’t get past the lack of air conditioning. Can you say east coast humidity?
I’d buy this right now but shipping to California kills the deal…
