A 1984 vintage station wagon from Buffalo, New York with 225,000 miles? For any other carmaker, you’d likely be looking at a rusted-out and tired wagon. In this instance, the fact the car has been stored winters, “conscientiously maintained”, and happens to be a diesel-powered W123 Mercedes-Benz 300TD means it’s just getting broken in. That’s essentially what you’re looking at with this 1982 Mercedes-Benze 300TD Estate first listed in October 2020 on Craigslist in Kenmore, New York (Buffalo) with an asking price of $7,500.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“This durable and well-built vintage workhorse has been conscientiously maintained. Stored in winter, it has never been driven in snow and has not been exposed to road salt. Body in very good condition. The Interior has original M-Tex upholstery also in good condition. Power windows, central locking, original radio, and working heat/air. Air was upgraded to 134a refrigerant. Mileage is approximately 250,000. Michelin tires should still pass inspection just fine.
Dashboard cover has buckled with age; replacement piece is included with the sale, as is an extra set of front headlamps. This car is an eye-catching, tail-gating, antique-hauling beauty, and the perfect vehicle for anyone seeking a nostalgic and functional ride. Most repair records going back to 1999 can be provided. This car has been driven well and kept in good working order its entire life. It has many more years of enjoyment left to give!
