Ten cents on the dollar.  Time value of money aside, that’s approximately what you’ll be paying compared to this car’s original base price of $124,000 when it was brand new.  This Imperial Red 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL600, last listed on Craigslist in October 2020 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is the rarest example of R129-vintage SL Roadsters as the 6.0 Liter V12 took things up a notch over six- and eight-cylinder-powered siblings.

“Classic luxury, style and power, 1997 SL600 V12 naturally aspirated, (no personal property tax, Va.) considered the best of the R129 series. $12,500.00. First owner off of lease very well maintained. Imperial red with both tops, wind deflector and new two tone beige and brown anniversary seats with custom wood and leather sport steering wheel. Staggered custom wheels: Front; 18×9.5 wrapped with Nitto Extreme 555 245/40ZR18, Rear 18×10.5 wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A 285/30ZR18wrapped with Nitto Extreme 555 245/40ZR18. Some paint issues on front bumper (see Picture)
Maintenance item within the last year: New A/C compressor, evaporator, hoses, service ports. receiver/dryer, expansion valve, pressure sensor, evaporator temperature sensor. New hood pad, iridium plugs and coils.
Maintenance item within the last 3 to 5 years: New Mass Air Flow Sensors, intake boots, K and N air filters. New Top and all rebuilt lift cylinders with upgraded seals. New front and rear self leveling hydraulic shocks and dampener cylinders. New slotted and drilled rotors and ceramic pads.
