Nov 2020 | Classifind Cut, Classifinds, Malaise Monday

November 29th Update – This one got away, but if you have your heart set on something similar, email us the details of what you’re looking for or call Rudy directly at (908)295-7330

While most cars we feature neatly fall into one of our daily themes, some can easily overlap into multiple themes.  That is the case for certain C3 Corvettes such as L-48 powered, silver-over blue leather, 1979 example originally listed in November 2020 on Craigslist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the widow of the owner for $7,900.  Following a highly promoted 1978 25th anniversary year, the 1979 Corvettes now came standard with the prior year’s pace car spoilers and a new dual-snorkel air cleaner helped the standard L-48 motor achieve 195 horsepower.

Currently not running, this car has the makings of a great entry-level vintage Corvette winter project.  The Collector Car Market Review Online Tool places the asking price between this guide’s current #4 “Fair” estimate of $7,100 and it’s #3 “Good” appraisal of $10,100.

Here’s the seller’s description:

“I’m selling my late husband’s prized Corvette. It’s in good shape for the age of the vehicle. It ran well at good highway speed before my husband became ill. It has always been garage kept and covered.
I have just had installed: new brakes, new harmonic balancer, battery, and new belt. It currently doesn’t run. It has current registration and passed inspection. Title in hand. The tires are very good.
It comes with two sets of T tops: solid and tinted glass. A front bumper scuff and very minor scratches. Navy leather interior shows signs of wear. Please only contact if seriously interested.
