Classifind Cut 54: 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon – SOLD!

Nov 2020 | Classifinds, Wagon Wednesday

November 24th Update – Classic Volvo 240 wagons in unmolested condition priced fairly do not stay for sale very long, and this white ’91 example was no exception. While this one got away, if you have your heart set on something similar, email us the details of what you’re looking for or call Rudy directly at (908)295-7330

Volvo produced its staid 240 wagons from 1974 to 1993, with nearly one million units sold worldwide during that time. Earning the brand a reputation for longevity as well as safety, most examples we come across have been driven into the ground.  A notable exception is this 1991 white over tan example just listed recently on Craigslist in Wallington New Jersey with the complete service history, only 107K original miles, and an asking price of $7,500.   Unfortunately, our typical pricing guides as yet do not rate these cars and the NADA Guides Classic Car Online Valuation Tool “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range of only $1,825, $2,775, and $3,925, respectively does not reflect what the market typically expects for 240s of this vintage in this condition.  The seller reports this car had the same fastidious owner for 29 years, but we’re not sure whether they are speaking in the third person or if they purchased the car from the original owner.  Either way, if you are serious about buying this Volvo, you can start the conversation by emailing the seller.  When you do, please remember to mention you saw his Estate featured here on GuysWithRides.com.  Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“For sale is a very nice 1991 Volvo 240 wagon with automatic transmission. Only 107k original miles. (Yes, the odometer works, and the maintenance intervals are logged). Same owner for 29 years! Well maintained vehicle and meticulously cared for. Garage kept and it shows. No typical 240 issues present. Quiet and powerful blower motor. Ice cold AC. No rust. No dash cracks. Shiny factory paint. Many recent services performed. The timing belt recently changed. New tires. Everything works. Runs and drives like new.

The original owner cherished this one since new. Clean title on hand. Price $7500 firm.”
