Mercedes-Benz produced its third-generation E-Class for the 2003 through 2006 model years. The most notable design features from the prior generation include twin-headlights angled slightly rearward. While the W211 E-Class was larger than its predecessors, the beautiful more aerodynamic styling provided less interior space, particularly in the estate version, than the prior generation it replaced. It offered gasoline or diesel engines with a choice of rear or 4-wheel drive. The W211 features an innovative electro-hydraulic braking system marketed as Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), which was standard equipment in the E-Class. Air suspension was standard equipment in the top-of-the-range E 500 V8 model. The W211 was the first E-Class since 1985 equipped with two windshield wipers. While most U.S. E-Class Estates were the V6-powered E320, the example available for purchase here features the “M113” 5.0-liter V8, which produces 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four corners through a 5-speed automatic transmission controlling the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. It’s worth noting this vintage of E-Class wagon was the last non-AMG version to be offered with a V8 in the North American market.

The third caretaker of this 2005 E500 Estate, Bryan, purchased the car from the prior owner several years ago. Bryan performed all of the required maintenance during his ownership. In addition to a Harman/Kardon audio system, Bryan’s E500 is equipped with a moonroof, third-row rear-facing seats, and a Mercedes COMMAND audio/navigation system. The car is mostly unmodified except for the upgraded AMG wheels and the standard halogen headlamps have been upgraded to to high output LED lighting including low beams, high beams, and driving lights. Two keys, the rear cargo cover, and two sets of factory Mercedes floor mats (carpet and rubber) will be included as part of the sale.
Here is Bryan’s description of his Mercedes E500 Estate:
“I am the third owner of this wagon, and hate to see it go. It’s a fantastic car, and I have maintained it mostly myself since I got it. It’s in great shape, and is still very fast – really is a sleeper car. It’s got a few dings here and there but overall is in great shape. These are getting quite rare. The car has upgraded AMG rims.”
Bryan also provided this great video of his E500 he’s going to miss:
