Classifind Cut: 1973 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce – $24,000

Dec 2020 | Classifinds, Sports Car Saturday

We love featuring Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce’s built with color combinations other than the traditional red-over black.  Our latest example is this 1973 Spider 2000 in what appears to be dark blue over wine leather listed yesterday here on Craigslist in Lambertville, New Jersey. Featuring a fresh paint job and only 53K original miles, asking the private seller has set a price of $24,000.  While oddly the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool indicates the private seller has their vintage Alfa priced well above this guide’s #1 “Excellent” estimate of $16,000,  the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a second data point confirms this private seller has this Alfa priced between the #3 “Good” estimate of $15,400 and the #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $25,700.  If you are serious about buying this Spider Veloce, you can start the conversation by either calling or texting Erik at (609) 575-8744.  When you connect, please remember to mention you saw their Alfa featured here on GuysWithRides.com. Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“53,000 orig. miles. Just Painted Original Blue. Runs/Handles Great. 5 Speed. Good Pirelli tires. nice top. Fun to drive. No rust or dents. New Driver side seat foam and upholstery. New Door bumpers and Door seal. Rebuilt Clutch Slave Cyl. Rapidly appreciating Classic. NADA High Retail $45,000. Ave Retail $27,800. Call or text.”

Low mileage is a plus in the sellers favor. Seller could have washed the car, cleaned the wheels and tires before photographing. Something does not look right with the trunk in the third photo. Maybe it’s just the reflection of the house. I’d have chosen a better location to photograph. Quality photographs do enhance the sale of a car. I think Collector Car and Hagerty car values are much more reflective of the actual market than NADA.
