1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer – SOLD!
January 12th Update – we just confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” We’re sorry-this one got away, so feel free to reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
From our perspective, the holy grail of finds tends to be the classic rides that already have nearly all of the cosmetic items addressed and are in need of resolving some mechanical issues to make them ready for show or go. That’s exactly what seems to be the case with this 1986 Jeep Grand Cherokee originally listed in December 2020 on Craigslist in Westport, Connecticut said to be in need of a gas tank and four-wheel-drive work with an asking price of $37,000. The Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the current ask is consistent with this guide’s current #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $37,300. With prices of eighties vintage Grand Cherokees stabilizing over the past eighteen months, this is the perfect candidate for someone who plans to keep it rather than trying to reflip it for a profit. Chances are very good you can daily it for several years and sell it for what you paid for it.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1986 Grand Wagoneer with the majority of restoration done. Engine and Transmission rebuilt <500 miles ago. Brand new paint and trim. Interior upholstery in excellent condition. Brand new Tow package, and just redid the front breaks. New wheels and restored rims. Tint just redone. Needs gas tank repaired and replaced and 4×4 repaired, but I will recommend an excellent shop to take care of this for you who specializes in vintage vehicles. Honestly, I love this car. I don’t want to sell her, but I simply cannot finance the tank rebuild right now, so she deserves to find a home that can put the cherry on top..”
